Tobramycin Opthalmic Solution

DW Tobramycin Opthalmic Solution is a bactericidal topical antibiotic indicated in the treatment of external bactericidal conditions of the eye and its appendages. The spectrum of activity covers a wide range of gram-positive organizms and many gram-negative organisms such as E.Coli, Proteus, Pseudomonas. DW Tobramycin OPhthalmic Solution is isotonic with Iacrima, thus it does not cause irritating to eye mucosa.


Each 100ml contains:

Tobramycin 300mg

Bensalkonium Chloride 10mg

Appearance : Clear to light-yellow ophthalmic solution


1. Susceptible Strains - Staphylococci: S.aureus, S. epidermis, Penicillin-resistant strains. -Streptococci: including some of the group A-betahemolytic species, some Nonhemolytic species and Streptococcus pneumoniae. - Psedomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella neumoniae, Enterobactor aerogenes, Proteus mirabilis, Haemophilus influenza, Haemophilus asgyptius, Moraxella lacunata, Acinetobacter calcoacceicus some strains of Neisseria. 2. Main indication Blepharitis, Dacryocystitis, Hordeolum, Blennophthamia, Kerratitis Keratohelcosis.

Adult and Children:

Instill one or two drops into the affected eye(s) every four to six hours. In severe infections, instill two drops into the affected eyes every two hours until improvement is observed, following which treatment should be gradually reduced prior to discontinuation.


Do not use DW Tobramycin Ophthalmic Solution for patient with history of hypersensitivity to Tobremycin and its component such as bissulfite because this drug contain sodium bisulfite.

Side effects:

Eyelid itch, swelling, rubber and conjunctival erythema may occur.

General precautions Disclaimer: - Patient with history of hypersensitivity to Aminoglycoside groups may be also hypersensitivity with Tobramycin. Pre test should be done before use Tobramycin. - Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms including fungi. Please consult doctor. - Please avoid contacting the bottle top and dropping dip. - Pregnancy reproduction studies have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility of harm to the fetus due to Tobramycin. But this drub should be used during pregnancy only needed. Nursing mother: The drug should not be used during lactation period.
